The oral exam is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your knowledge, your presentation/speaking skills, as well as your ability to communicate. Specifically, the student must have the ability to understand spoken questions from the examiner and to give responses, both in words and by writing equations and figures on a sheet of paper. I'll choose a topic for you from the given list. You'll have about 20 minutes to prepare, and during the preparation you can make some notes on a blank sheet of paper (you can bring it). These notes will help you afterwards, when you'll have some time (about 10-20 minutes) to present (orally) your topic. Chances are that I'll ask some questions during your presentation about your topic and most likely I'll ask some questions at the end about anything related to this course in order to make a decision about your final grade, which will be from 1 (insufficient) to 5 (excellent).
